Fixing a “Clunky” Checkout: A Mobile UI/UX & CRO Strategy
Client: An e-commerce fashion store on Shopify.

Challenges We Faced
The client’s Shopify site was responsive, but had a terrible mobile user experience (UX) that was killing sales:
High Mobile Cart Abandonment
GA4 data showed 85% of mobile users abandoned their cart.
Touch-Friendly Navigation Failure
A UI/UX Analysis with Microsoft Clarity showed users “rage clicking” on tiny, “non-thumb-friendly” checkout buttons.
Poor Font & Image Scaling
Product descriptions were in a tiny font, and images were not scaling correctly.

Low Mobile Conversion Rate
Their mobile conversion rate was 0.6%, a fraction of their desktop rate.
Confusing Checkout Flow
Mobile users were lost in multiple steps, making it hard to complete purchases and reducing sales.

Advice for Marketers & Brand Owners
- “Responsive” is not the same as “optimized.” Your site can look OK on mobile but be unusable.
- Touch-Friendly Navigation is critical. Buttons must be large (at least 48px) and have space around them.
- Watch your users. Tools like Microsoft Clarity are essential for mobile responsiveness services. They show you why users are bouncing.
- A good mobile web page design focuses on the checkout and cart just as much as the homepage.
Extra Factors That Made It Work
- The Clarity session recordings were the #1 insight. Seeing users “rage click” a tiny button was the proof we needed.
- Fixing the Font & Image Scaling made the site feel more professional and trustworthy.
- This was a Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)-focused project that had a massive, direct impact on revenue.
